The Watercourse
At present the water flowing from the immersion pool is culverted underground. It is proposed that the water course is opened up to form a stream. Depending on the rainfall this may be quite lively or a small trickle.
A section of the stream will be modelled into a series of narrow rills and pools with a little bridge. The rills and pool will provide an inspiring place for children's play. The pool located on the edge of the lawn would be very shallow (150mm at the deepest) with marginal aquatics and groundcover to the south. This low planting would ensure that the visibility of the pond is possible at all times.
The stream ends near the new housing development as a stone-lined pool which then flows into a rill beside the public path between the houses the public path between the houses.
